Is a boiler inspection necessary?
If your coffee machine operates using pressurised steam, it’s crucial to plan for an annual boiler inspection. This evaluation ensures that the pressurised vessel and valves of your coffee maker remain in excellent condition, keeping it running safely and efficiently.
How often should I schedule a boiler inspection?
According to the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (2000), it’s mandatory to conduct a commercial coffee machine inspection once you have had it for 14 months. Following that, we advise arranging inspections at approximately one-year intervals. However, the inspection frequency may fluctuate depending on the specific machine type and its usage patterns.
What does a boiler inspection entail?
In the course of a PSSR inspection, our fully trained Engineers will carry out a comprehensive safety evaluation of your coffee machine. This entails a meticulous examination of the pressurised vessel and valves to ensure they are in excellent condition. During the inspection, your machine will be temporarily unavailable for use.
The duration of the inspection typically takes around 30 minutes under ideal conditions. However, if any issues are detected with your machine, it may require additional time if we need to repair or replace certain parts.
Once the inspection is finalised, you will receive an IOSH certificate as as proof of compliance with safety regulations.
